Instant Confirmation vs. Requires Approval — What’s the Difference?

Learn how each confirmation type works and, importantly, when your card is actually charged.

When you book a service in GuestGenie, the way your booking gets confirmed depends on the service. There are two types: Instant Confirmation and Requires Approval. The key difference is when your card gets charged.

Instant Confirmation

Requires Approval

Instant Confirmation

When you book a service with Instant Confirmation, your service request is confirmed right away. Your card is charged at the moment of booking, and your status immediately shows as Confirmed. No waiting, no approval needed.

Requires Approval

Some services require the provider to review your request before confirming. When you book one of these services, you will be asked to provide your payment card details — but your card is NOT charged at this point.

Once the provider reviews your request:

  • If approved: your card is charged and your service request is confirmed.

  • If rejected: no charge is made to your card whatsoever.

💳 Your card is only charged once a provider approves your service request. If they decline or do not respond, you will not be charged anything.

How to Know Before Booking

Before you reserve a service, you can always tell which type it is:

  • Services with Instant Confirmation have no special badge — booking confirms immediately.

  • Services that Require Approval display a "Requires Approval" badge on the service card.

  • The service detail page will also show the confirmation type and any relevant lead time.
